Dhunda Fort, also known as Dhundya Qilla, is a hill fort located in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, approximately 106 kilometers away from the city of Nashik. Situated west of the road connecting Malegaon and Satana, the fort stands on a single hillock, rising to an elevation of 2280 feet (695 meters). It is part of the Dhundeshwar Hill Range.
History:
Historical records regarding Dhunda Fort are scarce. However, its strategic location overlooking the trade route from Khandesh to Nashik suggests its importance as a watchtower to monitor the surrounding region. Local villagers also refer to the hill as Dundeshwar Maharaj, indicating a possible religious significance associated with the site.
