Chandragad, also known as Dhavalgad, is a hill fort located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, approximately 182 km from Mumbai. Situated in the Sahyadri mountain range, this fort held strategic importance as it overlooked the Varandha Ghat trade route connecting Bhor to the Konkan region.
History
The history of Chandragad dates back to the era of Chandrarao More, who built the Kangori fort in the Jawali valley to monitor trade routes.
