 Location and Accessibility:

  • It is located near Thane in the Badlapur region of Maharashtra.
  • The fort is situated at a height of 790 meters (approximately 2592 feet) above sea level in the Matheran ranges.
  • The trek to Chanderi Fort starts from two villages:
    • Chinchavli (near Vangani and Badlapur railway stations), which is considered an easily accessible route.
    • Tamsai (near Panvel).
  • From Vangani station, one can walk along the railway track towards Badlapur to reach Goregaon village, from where a left turn leads to Chincholi, the base village.
  • Alternatively, one can walk from Badlapur station to Chincholi in about 45 minutes.
