Bitangad, also known as Bitaka, is a hill fort situated in the Nashik district of Maharashtra, India. Nestled in the Kalsubai mountain range of the Sahyadri, it lies near the border of Nashik and Ahmednagar districts.
Location and Accessibility:
- The fort is located approximately 130 km from Mumbai.
- The nearest major town is Ghoti, about 22 km west of the fort.
- To reach the base village of Bitanwadi, one needs to travel from Ghoti towards Bhandardara and take a diversion at Taked village. From Taked, the Ekdara fork is about 9 km away, and Bitanwadi is another 5 km from there.
- Public transport is available up to Igatpuri, from where taxis or rickshaws can be hired to reach Ghoti and further towards the base village.
