Bhushangad

 Bhushangad, a hill fort in the Khatav taluk of Satara district, Maharashtra, India, stands as a solitary oval-shaped hill, rising 600 feet above the surrounding plains. Its flat top covers an area of approximately 300 square yards.   

History:

The exact origins of Bhushangad are unclear. Local legends attribute its construction to King Singhana of Devagiri (1210–1246). However, it is also believed that Shivaji Maharaj repaired and strengthened the fort around 1676 as part of a regional fortification effort that included nearby Vardhangad, Sadashivgad, and Machindragad forts.
